Joy Bhattacharjya is Project Director of U17 FIFA World Cup. He was previously a part of IPL starting from 2008. He was the director of Kolkata Knight Riders franchise (KKR) owned by Bollywood actor, Shah Rukh Khan’s company, Red Chillies Entertainment, in partnership with actress Juhi Chawla and her husband, Jay Mehta, from the Mehta Group. The team won its first title in 2012 and achieved the same feat in 2014 too.
Joy was born on 30th October 1966 at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Currently, he resides in Gurgaon, Haryana.
Joy is credited for ESPN School Quiz, Mastermind India and Super Selector. He worked for Derek O’ Brien’s quizzing company in his early days after quitting his job in Patni Computer. Joy later went on to work with IMG, ESPN and National Geographic, prior to his role at KKR. Joy is also looked up for his quick wit and presence of mind while hosting quiz shows. He’s constantly invited by corporates and various universities for speeches/ guest lectures.
In 2014, Joy authored the book called “The First XI: Junior Premier League”.
Joy is one of the chief advisors of India Inclusion Summit since 2012.
