We’re living in the days where we don’t even know our neighbors. It’s hard to find people who even go out of their way to help their own. Amidst that, when you hear of someone who helps someone they don’t even know, it’s hard to believe. But such positive news is what restores your faith in humanity.
One such incident came into light a few days back. Here’s what happened!
The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Siddaramaiah, recently lost his son in Belgium. When the news of Mr. Siddaramaiah landing in Belgium with his family was heard by a common Indian man, living there, he rushed to the hospital with his wife. Why?
The Story Of Humanity & Generosity
Vijayendra VS is an Indian, with his roots in Karnataka. He is from Gundlupet, while his wife, Shobha, is from Bengaluru. They had only seen Mr. Siddaramaiah in pictures. When he heard of a fellow Kannadiga – be it the CM – in a tough spot in an unfamiliar country, he felt it was his duty to step in and offer any kind of help possible in such a disturbing time.
Viju, as he is popularly known, and his wife spent three days with the CM’s family by taking leave from work. They offered home-cooked food and were there with the deceased’s family to offer solace in the tough times.
CM Speaks About Vijayendra VS On Facebook
Mr. Siddaramaiah was so touched by these noble gestures, he mentioned Vijayendra in his Facebook post on 2nd August. Here’s what he had to say –
“As soon as the news that the CM of Karnataka is in Belgium to look into the matters of his sick son admitted in a hospital was heard, a Bangalorean and his wife staying in the city came over on their own. I will never be able to forget the help I received from this couple. They even went to the extent of getting us home-cooked meals, which touched the deepest chords of my heart. I will never be able to express enough gratitude to the love and kindness showered upon us by Vijayendra.”
When we congratulated Viju’s wife, Shobha, on their beautiful show of humanity, she said they don’t really deserve so much appreciation. She went on to say that anybody in their place would have done the same.
